Should I follow a specific facial care regimen
before my treatment?
Discontinue all over the counter and prescription products
24 hours prior to your treatment. If you have recently received
any intensive or aggressive skin treatment or experienced
sunburn, please inform you specialist prior to your visit.
The day of treatment cleanse with with a gentle product
containing no additives. Do not exfoliate (scrub). Do not
apply anything else to the area including moisturizer and
makeup.
Should I notify my Specialist if I have ever experienced
any adverse skin conditions?
Yes. To ensure the highest standards of safety and personalized
treatment, please notify your specialist. You will need
to fill out a health history form, and all questions will
be answered confidentially.
What can I expect immediately following treatment?
After the gentle exfoliation, you will leave your treatment
with soft, younger skin. Since the laser peel uses a
low energy laser, you can return to normal activities
right away. You can literally come in during your lunch
hour and return to work the same day. The most common
side effect is simply a mild reddening of the skin,
which usually subsides quickly.
How should I care for my skin after treatment?
The following steps are generally recommended. Your Specialist
may recommend other steps or procedures:
- Avoid exposure to direct
sunlight and apply a sunscreen with an SPF of at least
15 or higher when outside
- Use a con-comedogenic
and non-medicated makeup, preferably one with sunscreen.
- Use a gentle, non-abrasive
cleanser without artificial fragrance, detergents, color
or oils.
- Avoid the use of toners
for 48 hours
- Moisturize daily with
a non-comedogenic moisturizer.
